Koi

Koi

Fins stir cool water -
orange mottled bodies glide
through reed and bulrush,
dorsals reflecting the sun.
Like vibrant lilies –
shiro, showa, tama-gin
hikari-moyo,
they slink by silken petals

Hi, actually I also have kois in my house... :) I also used to breed them, but most of them have died. There was a f***ing stranger poisoned my pond outside... :(

Zilko,

Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my blog. Much appreciated.

Koi ponds need a lot of protection. I know a fish lover who has placed sonic alarms around his pond that are supposed to deter the cats that keep stealing fish. Herons are also a problem and he has a wire mesh cover over the top of the pond.

Coral
